Being Behan

Being Behan

Special guest director! A drinker with a writing problem. The spirit of Ireland’s most notorious playwright Brendan Behanhumorist, songster, rabble-rouser, storyteller supreme, rebel and all-round entertaineris brilliantly captured in this highly original and outrageously funny play by Jim Sheridan (Oscar winning film, My Left Foot) and Peter Sheridan (Borstal Boy).  They bring to life the larger-than-life character of Behan from his early days as a young IRA rebel in England to his later incarnation as the life and soul of every pub in Dublin. Peter Sheridan, co-author and brother of Jim and friend of the Behan family, comes from Dublin to direct.
